Dead Man's Alley

Stir Rye Whiskey, Mezcal, Braulio, Amaro with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.

I recently came across a local cocktail featuring rye, Braulio, maple syrup, and walnut bitters that sparked my creativity. It reminded me of the Amaro Daiquiri and inspired me to mix rye with mezcal at a 3:1 ratio, which has worked well in several drinks I've created. Drawing from Herbert Asbury's "The Barbary Coast," I named this drink after a dodgy alley in San Francisco during the 1800s, calling it the Black Manhattan with a hint of maple.
