Over the last few days, I celebrated the final performances by the original cast in Hamilton, marked my birthday, and commemorated the 212th anniversary of the Hamilton-Burr duel. To honor this unique convergence of occasions, I decided to create a special new cocktail.

- Crush the mint leaves.
- Pour crushed ice into a hurricane glass.
- Combine all ingredients except for the tonic water in a mixing glass and stir.
- Strain this mixture into the prepared hurricane glass.
- Add tonic water and extra crushed ice to top it off.
- Swirl with a swizzle stick.
- Decorate with a sprig of mint, a lime wheel, and cherries.
