Shots and Stripes Forever

0

Pamela Wiznitzer's 2014 drink from The Dead Rabbit in New York: gin, lemon juice and blue curaçao shaken with a little simple syrup and two kinds of bitters, served in a highball glass. Tart and citrusy, with an aromatic edge from the bitters.

Instructions

  1. Combine all ingredients except for Peychaud’s in a shaker.
  2. Shake well.
  3. Strain into a Collins glass filled with crushed ice to form a blue layer.
  4. Add more crushed ice on top of this layer to make a white one.
  5. Finish by pouring Peychaud’s or Angostura bitters over the top to create a red layer.
  6. If you prefer, skip the layered effect and Peychaud’s, and simply savor it as an elegant sour cocktail.
