Instructions

Chill your coupe by filling it with ice and letting it sit while you prepare the rest of the ingredients. Combine whiskey, sweet vermouth, maraschino liqueur, and Angostura bitters in a mixing glass. Pack the mixture with ice cubes and stir until well chilled and diluted. Empty the chilled coupe of its ice and pour the cocktail through a strainer into it. For garnish, twist a piece of lemon peel over the drink to release its oils, then discard the peel. Finish by adding a cherry.
