A tall, shaken gin sour lengthened with soda, with lime and lemon juice for sharp citrus and kümmel adding a caraway note. Orange bitters and a lemon twist round it off.

John DeMicco and Akash Shah created the Nimble Penny in 2013 after a few Vowel cocktails set off a conversation about lemonade flavored with caraway that they remembered from childhood, and about the Indian drink Nimbu Paani. The drink is their own take on those nostalgic flavors, and its name is a deliberately skewed riff on the Indian one.
