Instructions

  1. Add the sockerlag-style simple syrup, Peychaud's bitters, Byrrh Grand Quinquina, cognac and absinthe to a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Stir until well chilled.
  3. Strain into a rocks glass filled with ice, ideally with one large hand-cracked cube.
  4. Squeeze an orange zest twist over the drink to release its oils, then discard it.
