Jolly Jane
Blended Scotch leads, with sweet vermouth, dry sherry and CioCiaro adding a nutty, bittersweet, lightly herbal depth, finished with an orange twist. Created by Frederic Yarm in Boston in 2024, stirred and served in a coupe.

The Jolly Jane is named after Jane Toppan, a serial killer from the 1890s whom the creator learned about on a Cutty Sark-sponsored Boston Crime Tour, an event Yarm took part in organizing as an officer in the USBG's Boston chapter. After making a Manhatta with Punt e Mes and Lustau East India Solera Sherry earlier that day, the creator picked Amaro Ciociaro for this Scotch cocktail, since earlier versions made with Aperol or Campari lacked its sophistication.
