Hey Heywood!
🥃0
Shake Gin, Pear Liqueur, Yellow Chartreuse, Lemon Juice with ice. Strain into a coupe.
The Hey Heywood was born at Loyal Nine when inspiration struck from the Hoop La cocktail in the Savoy Cocktail Book. Known by three aliases including Hey Hey, it pays homage to Frank Sullivan of the Algonquin Round Table. To mirror the brandy base, I used St. George’s Spiced Pear Liqueur and a gin for an herbal twist. Testing with a regular customer revealed that while the 3:1:1:1 ratio was thin but tasty, he preferred it as equal parts. The name merges Heywood Broun from the Algonquin Round Table with the original cocktail's moniker to create the Hey Heywood!
