Day Old Bread

Stir Rye Whiskey, Aquavit, BéNéDictine, Cynar with ice. Strain into a coupe.

Inspired by Maks Pazuniak’s 100 Year Old Cigar, I decided to tweak the recipe by replacing the dark rum and smoky Islay Scotch with a 3:1 blend of rye whiskey and aquavit. This combination reminded me of drinks like Mockingbird and Wish Me Luck, as well as my recent experience with Mergers & Acquisitions. The caraway notes in the aquavit and the robust flavor of rye led to the name Day Old Bread.
