- Fill a rocks glass with ice, pour in the absinthe and top with water. Leave it to stand while you mix the drink.
- Fill a mixing glass with ice and add the whisky, Drambuie, Angostura bitters and Peychaud's bitters.
- Stir until well chilled.
- Empty the rocks glass of ice, water and absinthe, leaving only the coating on the glass.
- Strain the stirred drink into the empty glass.
- Garnish with a lemon zest twist and discard it afterwards.
