A very dry, cold martini where the vermouth is only a faint coating on the ice. The result is mostly vodka, clean and sharp, with a little chilli on the rim of the glass.

- Stir the dry vermouth with ice in a mixing glass, then strain off the vermouth so that only a thin coating is left on the ice.
