Sidecar Mocktail

🥃
0

An alcohol-free approximation of the classic Sidecar.

The Sidecar originally had a 1:1:1 ratio according to Robert Vermeire’s recipe, representing the classic French approach. The Savoy Cocktail Book, however, lists it with a 2:1:1 mix.

Instructions

Prepare the glass: If desired, moisten the rim of a chilled cocktail glass with a lemon wedge and dip it into sugar to create a sugared rim. Combine ingredients: In a cocktail shaker, add 2 oz of Lyre's American Malt, 1 oz of Lyre's Orange Sec, and 0.75 oz of freshly squeezed lemon juice. Shake and strain: Fill the shaker with ice and shake vigorously for about 15 seconds. Strain the mixture into the prepared cocktail glass. Garnish: Twist a lemon peel over the drink to release its oils, then drop it into the glass or drape it over the rim. A non-alcoholic approximation of the Sidecar.
