A rum sour with lime and a little banana liqueur, where a small measure of Fernet Branca adds a bitter, herbal edge. Created by Frederic Yarm in Boston in 2021.

Frederic Yarm of Boston created the Tropical Depression in 2021 as a tribute to a colleague at Drink, who tested positive for Covid-19 during a Caribbean cruise in December 2021 and was airlifted off the ship. It combines Jamaican white rum, banana and Fernet, drawing on the Lost Horizon and Yarm's own Banana Toronto.
