Stir Batavia Arrack, Fernet Branca, Green Chartreuse, CrèMe De Banane with ice. Strain into a coupe.

Inspired by the Krakatoa from Drink back in 2008, I recently started crafting my version of this classic cocktail. Instead of setting Chartreuse ablaze, I incorporated it into the mix. Drawing inspiration from Avery’s Arrack-Ari, I added a smoky Scotch rinse and followed up with banana liqueur for depth, echoing notes from the Banana Toronto. The name came to me while exploring Indonesia's Sacred Monkey Forest, where visitors can interact with monkeys but risk getting bitten.
