Mumma

💧
0

A traditional Swedish festive drink served at Christmas and Easter tables since the 1500s. Dark beer, light beer, sweet soda, and fortified wine spiced with cardamom — poured from a height for a rich, creamy foam.

Mumma likely came to Sweden from Germany in the 1500s. Its strong association with Christmas developed during the 1800s as the julbord took its modern form. The spicing with cardamom and orange complements other Christmas flavors.
