Equal parts cognac and blended Scotch, stirred with a little sugar syrup, Angostura and allspice dram into a strong, warmly spiced drink. Created by Giancarlo Jesus at The Hawthorn Lounge in Wellington, New Zealand, in 2014.

Giancarlo Jesus created the drink in 2014 at The Hawthorn Lounge in Wellington, New Zealand. After Jesus won a Monkey Shoulder contest, the bar began trying out playful monkey-themed names, and Monkey's Older Brother was the result.
