Metal Urbain
A stirred cognac drink with sweet vermouth, Amaro Nardini, green Chartreuse and Angostura bitters, finished with an orange peel. Rich and bittersweet, with herbal depth. Created by Frederic Yarm in Boston in 2020.

Frederic Yarm of Boston created the Metal Urbain in 2020, pairing Pierre Ferrand Cognac with Amaro Nardini. The idea built on drinks that combine Punt e Mes with that amaro, and on Cognac cocktails such as the Green Hornet and Key Party, where Green Chartreuse plays the partner role; chocolate bitters were added because they suit both the amaro and the Cognac. The name refers to Métal Urbain, a French punk band that was popular at the radio station of Yarm's graduate school, echoing the two French ingredients.
