- Put a coupe-style cocktail glass in the freezer, or fill it with ice and water, to chill it.
- Fill a shaker with ice and add the vodka, anise-flavored liqueur and lemon juice.
- Shake hard until the shaker is frosted and the drink is cold.
- Empty the glass and strain the drink into it.
- Garnish with the lemon twist.
