Into rocks glass filled with crushed ice, sazerac style, about 5 dashes
60 ml
Expressed and discarded, a la sazerac
Skinny, use Punt e Mes if no Carpano
Skinny half ounce, add dash demerara to R&W, or use Marie Brizzard

Instructions

  1. Coat a rocks glass lined with crushed ice using about five dashes of Gary Regan's Orange Bitters.
  2. If using apry, measure half an ounce; for R & W (preferred), mix one-eighth ounce demerara syrup with the rest in apricot liqueur to make a half-ounce mixture.
  3. Stir this together.
  4. Discard the bitters and crushed ice from the glass.
  5. Strain the chilled cocktail into it.
  6. Garnish by expressing an orange peel over the drink and then discarding it.
