- The drink was originally designed to be barrel aged: if you like, mix a large batch of all the ingredients and let it mature in a cask beforehand.
- Fill a highball glass with ice.
- Add the ingredients, or the matured batch, to a mixing glass with ice and stir until chilled.
- Strain into the ice-filled highball glass.
- Garnish with an orange zest twist, a pineapple wedge and a cherry.
