Coley Cobbler

Shake Sweet Vermouth, Fernet Branca, Simple Syrup, Orange with ice. Strain into a highball glass.

I came across Nicola Nice’s book The Cocktail Parlor: How Women Brought the Cocktail Home, where she talks about the Sherry Cobbler. This inspired me to create a new twist on Ada Coleman’s Hanky Panky by turning it into a Vermouth Cobbler. I remembered how well sweet vermouth and Fernet worked together in my Diddlin' Dora cocktail and thought of adding muddled orange wheels for balance, much like the classic Cobbler style. I named this creation the Coley Cobbler after Ada’s nickname at the Savoy bar.
