- Crush the balsamic syrup, basil, and sugar cube together in a shaker.
- Pour in bourbon and fill with ice.
- Shake vigorously.
- Drain over new ice cubes into an Old Fashioned glass.
- Finish by pouring on ginger beer and adding a basil leaf as a garnish.
