The Boca Arriba cocktail draws inspiration from Gabriella Mlynarczyk’s Enter the Dragon and incorporates layering techniques seen in Pouring Ribbons’ One Flight Up. Its name comes from Julio Cortázar's short story "La noche boca arriba."

Michelada mix

Instructions

  1. Chill a highball glass by placing an ice shard inside it.
  2. Pour in Michelada mix and lager.
  3. Combine the remaining ingredients in a shaker without ice, shake well,
  4. then add ice and shake again.
  5. Strain this mixture into the prepared glass over the existing liquids.
  6. Garnish with an orange peel twist, three or four drops of Sriracha bitters, and coconut flakes.
  7. Provide a straw for sipping.
