Baltic Black Negroni
🥄0
Stir Aquavit, Black Balsams, Mirto, Orange Bitters with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass.
I've been experimenting with Mirto, finding it pairs well with Riga Black Balsam's earthy notes. Mirto, made from myrtle berries, complements the golden withy—bog myrtle—in Riga Black Balsam. For a Negroni-style cocktail, I opted for Ahus Akvavit due to its milder herbal profile compared to Linie. The choice of Ahus and Riga connects them both to the Baltic Sea, while the dark hue inspired the name "Baltic Black Negroni." Sardinian Mirto ties it back to Italy. An orange twist and bitters enhance the Seville orange in Ahus.
