Stir Rum, Dry Sherry, CioCiaro, CrèMe De Banane with ice. Strain into a coupe.

Inspired by the Blue Plate Special from Paper Plane, I experimented with Ciociaro liqueur and bananas. Initially aiming for a rum variation of the .38 Special, it came out too intense. To balance it, I incorporated cream sherry and allspice bitters. The result got named Anchor-Faced, a slang term for someone overly eager to join the British Royal Navy.

Sub 1/2 bsp allspice dram + 1 dash Angostura perhaps
60 ml
An aged funky navy strength Jamaican rum is preferable
As garnish
3 parts Oloroso to 1 part PX Sherry is a good sub

Instructions

Mix over ice, then pour through a strainer into a cocktail glass. Finish by twisting an orange peel over the drink.
