Algiers Point
🥄0
Stir Cognac, Rye Whiskey, Sweet Vermouth, Yellow Chartreuse with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.
One evening, two regulars from town visited River Bar. They requested a drink with herbal notes similar to a Green Point or something inspired by John Gertsen's creations at No. 9 Park and Drink. I decided to blend both ideas since John loves Sazeracs and their variations. Combining a Cognac Sazerac with a Green Point seemed perfect, especially given Gertsen’s enthusiasm for the latter. For inspiration on a name, I looked to Milk & Honey's neoclassic "Point" drinks and named it after Algiers Point in New Orleans, across the Mississippi River.
