Zester Cocktail
🥃0
Shake Gin, Sweet Vermouth, Bonal Gentiane Quina, Lemon Twist with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.
The Zester Cocktail debuted in "Recettes de Cocktails pour 1929" by its authors in 1928, featuring Campari instead of Secrestat Bitters, which closely resembles Bonal. This makes it one of the earliest Negroni variants with a 4:4:3 ratio. The switch to Secrestat Bitters remains unexplained. Its name stems from the inclusion of lemon zest in the shaker as noted in both editions. Cinzano vermouth is specified in each recipe.
