I got the idea for this cocktail after trying a delicious Genever-Cardamaro drink and reading about an apple brandy-Cardamaro combination on Haus Alpenz. I thought it would be interesting to blend these concepts together. The apple brandy reminded me of the Widow’s Kiss, with its Benedictine and Yellow Chartreuse elements. For inspiration on a name, I delved into Dutch folklore and was struck by "The Legend of the Wooden Shoe," which fits perfectly with the Genever ingredient.
