Grappa is shaken with Aperol, Campari, orange and lemon juice, with a little triple sec and orange bitters. It is a bitter, citrusy drink with the grape character of the grappa underneath.
The Valou started in 2021 from a grappa cocktail called the Valery, which the creator found too sweet. Lemon, bitters and a rebalanced amount of juice produced a new version, named after the nickname of the creator's French girlfriend Valérie.
