- Place 4 basil leaves and pineapple chunks in your shaker.
- Use a muddler or the back of a spoon to pulverize them until you have a smooth paste.
- Load the shaker about halfway up with ice cubes.
- Add simple syrup, tequila, and lime juice.
- Agitate vigorously for around 15 seconds.
- Strain this mixture into a chilled cocktail glass.
- Finish by pouring in a small amount of soda water on top and gently placing one final basil leaf to float on the surface.
