Instructions

Begin by crushing Szechuan peppercorns in a cocktail shaker. Next, combine whiskey, lemon juice, simple syrup, Chinese five-spice powder, and an egg white inside the shaker. Shake vigorously without ice for around 10 seconds to blend the egg white thoroughly. Then, pack the shaker with ice cubes and agitate vigorously for another 15 to 20 seconds. Pour the mixture through a fine strainer into a glass filled with ice. Top off your drink by sprinkling a few drops of Angostura bitters over it and add a lemon peel twist as garnish.
