Spicy rye and herbal amaro are lightened with lime and lengthened with strawberry soda, giving a tall, fizzy drink that is sweet-tart with a bitter edge. Created by Brian Downing at The Silver Dollar in Louisville, KY in 2025.

Instructions

  1. Chill a highball glass and fill it with ice.
  2. Add rye whiskey, Brucato Amaro Chaparral, lime juice and simple syrup to a shaker with ice.
  3. Shake well until cold.
  4. Strain into the prepared highball glass.
  5. Top with strawberry soda.
  6. Garnish with a sprig of mint and a strawberry.
