- Wet the rim of a highball glass with a lime slice and sprinkle with smoked sea salt mixed with chili lime rub.
- Add ice to half the glass or use an ice ball.
- Combine tequila, Ancho Reyes liqueur, grapefruit juice, and simple syrup in a shaker filled with ice.
- Shake vigorously.
- Pour the mixture into the prepared glass through a strainer.
- Top up with carbonated mineral water like Topo Chico.
- Garnish with a lime wedge.
