While blogging about Matty Gees' Sands at Milk & Honey, which is essentially a Casino Cocktail but with grapefruit and no orange bitters, I got an idea. What if I blended it with the 1916 Aviation? The swirling sand inspired me to name this concoction Sandstorm, after Darude's famous 2000 track. The grapefruit juice paired wonderfully with Maraschino liqueur, shifting the drink halfway between a classic Aviation and something entirely new.
