Right Handed Planter

0

Jamaican rum and tea shaken with lime juice, sugar, Campari and sweet vermouth make a long, bittersweet drink, spiced with Angostura and a pinch of nutmeg and finished with a sprig of mint. By Frederic Yarm, Boston, 2020.

Similar names: Flanders' Planter's Punch, Planter's Punch, Planter's Punch (Dale DeGroff), Planter's Punch (Spiced Rum), Planter's Punchless (Non-alcoholic)

Frederic Yarm of Boston devised the Right Handed Planter in 2020 after reading Jeff Berry's Potions of the Caribbean. It merges Colonel A.R. Woolley's Lemon Hart rum-based Improved Planter's Punch with the Rum Negroni-like Right Hand, using cooled tea as a diluent and mint and nutmeg garnishes borrowed from the creator's own version of the punch.
