Stir Cognac, Sweet Vermouth, Triple Sec, Campari with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass.

At Gary Regan's Cocktails in the Country retreat in 2015, I created several cocktails on the spot during an Organized Chaos session. One standout was inspired by a bottle of Camus Cognac and drew from the Lucien Gaudin recipe with Campari and curaçao. It also echoed Phil Ward’s Cornwall Negroni from 2005, which featured Punt e Mes and bitters. I named it after French fencer Rene Barbier, an Olympic medalist in 1928. Gaz praised it as "my sort of drink!"
