Red Grape Caipirinha

0

Tart lime and juicy red grapes give this caipirinha a rounder, wine-like fruitiness over the grassy bite of cachaça. Long, cold and refreshing.

Instructions

  1. Halve the lime from pole to pole. Cut one half into eight half-moon slices about 3-4 mm thick and put them in the bottom of a sturdy rocks glass.
  2. Add the sugar and muddle.
  3. Add the red grapes and keep muddling until the juice is fully released and the sugar has dissolved.
  4. Scrape the pulp, juice and sugar into a highball glass (about 30 cl).
  5. Pour freezer-cold cachaça into the empty muddling glass and swirl it round to pick up what is stuck to the sides. Pour it into the highball glass and stir until everything is well combined.
  6. Break four or five large ice cubes into chunks rather than crushing them, drop them in and stir. Fill up with more ice.
  7. Serve with a stirrer and no straw.
