Ramos Gin Fizz

🥃
0

A New Orleans legend requiring an extended shake — gin with citrus, cream, egg white, and orange blossom water for an impossibly fluffy texture.

The Ramos Gin Fizz made its debut in print as the "New Orleans Fizz" in Kappeler's Modern American Drinks in 1895. The cocktail originally called for half a lemon’s juice, half a tablespoon of fine sugar, two ounces of Old Tom gin, half a jigger of milk or cream, and soda water. This recipe predates Stanley Clisby Arthur’s "New Orleans DRINKS and how to mix 'em" from 1937.
