Instructions

  1. Combine 3/4 ounce tonic water, rum, lemon juice, and syrup in a shaker without ice.
  2. Vigorously agitate to blend thoroughly and flatten the tonic.
  3. Next, pack the shaker with ice cubes and shake again to cool down the mixture.
  4. Pour this over ice in a serving glass.
  5. Top it off with an additional 1 ounce of tonic water.
  6. Squeeze a lemon twist into the drink then discard it.
  7. Finish by adorning your punch buggy with either a slice of lemon or some candied ginger.
