Portuguese Counterpunch

Stir Bourbon, Rucolino, Amaro Cinpatrazzo Amaro Cinpatrazzo, Cherry Heering, Orange Bitters with ice. Strain into a cocktail glass.

Espinheira Ginja, Portugal’s favorite fruit liqueur made from macerated morello cherries in alcohol and sugar, paired intriguingly with Arugula Amaro Cinpatrazzo after I sampled both. The blend of cherry sweetness, bourbon, and arugula bitterness struck me as a potent mix, evoking the impact of a well-placed counterpunch. This inspired the cocktail’s name, Portuguese Counterpunch, reflecting its bold reddish-brown appearance and fiery taste.
