A stirred, gin-forward drink in the martini family, softened by dry vermouth. Orange bitters and a little Bénédictine add herbal sweetness, and a lemon twist adds a fresh citrus aroma.

Poet's Dream exists in two variations, both built on equal parts gin, vermouth and Bénédictine. One of them appears in a British cocktail book from 1934 that gathered recipes from many sources without crediting them.
