Frederic Yarm created the Painted Lady in 2023, starting from Maks Pazuniak's 100 Year Old Cigar and the idea of a rum and Scotch blend. Gin and applejack went in instead, with the Pink Lady as the template. Using Peychaud's Bitters rather than Angostura led to the name Painted Lady.
