Ornithologist
🥃Shake Tequila Blanco, Pineapple Juice, Suze, Velvet Falernum with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.
Instead of envisioning a white jungle bird right away, I decided to create a tequila-based sour with Suze and pineapple. The Jungle Bird recipe worked well as a starting point, with some adjustments. Using falernum instead of simple syrup added layers of complexity to the drink's citrus, bitterness, earthiness, and smokiness. Initially, I considered naming it something like "Radioactive Bird," but eventually settled on "Ornithologist," which refers to someone who studies birds. Given that this cocktail is essentially an inverted version of a Jungle Bird in terms of color, I switched the perspective for its name. While "Ornithologist" isn't bad, it might still be worth considering a more memorable alternative.
