Shake Herbal Liqueur, Jeppson'S Malort (See Notes For Modulating The Bitterness) Jeppson'S Malort (See Notes For Modulating The Bitterness), Lemon Juice, Passion Fruit Syrup, Honey Syrup with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.

Inspired by Trader Vic’s Port Light and Starboard Light recipes, I wondered what would happen if I swapped out the whisky with Malört. This idea likely stemmed from a mix-up of Nick Jarrett's Cutman and Cornerman cocktails, both featuring Malört but paired differently: passion fruit in one and something else in another. Initially thinking of calling it Nordic Light like the Nordic Toddy, I opted for Northern Lights instead, as it evokes nautical imagery for vessels sailing further north.
