Instructions

  1. Cut a lime in half lengthwise, remove the ends, and slice it into 4 or 8 pieces for a classic Caipirinha style.
  2. Crush the lime slices and sugar together in an old-fashioned glass until well mixed and the oils are released from the peel.
  3. Add rum and cracked ice to the mixture and stir thoroughly.
