Montebank
🥄0
Stir Scotch, Apple Brandy, Amaro, Apricot Brandy with ice. Strain into a coupe.
Inspired by the apricot-Sfumato pairing in my Smooth Operator, I decided to switch up the ingredients. Instead of Armagnac and rye, I opted for Scotch and apple brandy, removing Benedictine from the mix. Initially, I considered Peychaud's Bitters but found that it made the drink too dark alongside Sfumato. To brighten things up, I used absinthe instead. Reflecting on the original cocktail’s name, I called this new creation the Montebank, a term for someone who deceives others or sells fake medicines from a platform.
