Gin and sweet vermouth stirred together, with just 8 ml each of Fernet Branca and banana liqueur adding a bitter, herbal edge and a hint of ripe fruit. Finished with an orange twist and served in a coupe.

Frederic Yarm created the drink after trying a Banana Toronto at Offsuit in Boston, which made Yarm curious how banana liqueur would work in the Hanky Panky, a Fernet-Branca cocktail Yarm is fond of. The name Monkey Business nods to the playful spirit of the Hanky Panky, even though another Painkiller-style drink already went by it.
