Jeff "Beachbum" Berry invented the Miehana in 1996, intended to be enjoyed from a specially crafted tiki mug made by Kevin Kidney and Jody Daily. This was part of an exhibition showcasing Polynesian aesthetics at the Anaheim Museum.
