Maria Bonita

Stir Cachaça, Apple Brandy, Campari, Sweet Vermouth with ice. Strain into a rocks glass.

Inspired by a recent Cinnamon Girl cocktail, I combined its cachaça, apple brandy, and cinnamon with elements of a Negroni during Negroni Week, drawing from Erick Castro’s Babbo's Toddy for flavor cues. This mix led to the creation of the Maria Bonita, named after Maria Bonita, who joined Lampião in his bandit adventures around 1930 in Brazil. Her story is as legendary there as Bonnie and Clyde are in America.
