The Magpies Cocktail draws inspiration from Lynne Barrett’s latest book of short stories, "Magpies." On the first episode of Cabinet Beer Baseball Club’s show, Drinking With Writers, Lynne selected this drink herself.

Instructions

  1. Mix bourbon, Chartreuse, bitters, and lime juice in a Collins glass.
  2. Add ice cubes.
  3. Pour ginger beer on top.
  4. Gently stir to blend.
  5. For the garnish, skewer a piece of candied ginger wrapped in a basil leaf.
